Getting started
Q: What is OmniPrime POS? A: A modern Windows point-of-sale for supermarkets and electronics shops — billing, barcode scanning, inventory, expiry tracking, electronics warranty, reports and accounting export.
Q: What is the default login?
A: Username admin, password admin123. Change it after first login.
Q: Do I need the internet? A: No. It runs fully offline on the till. Internet is only for emailing receipts or online accounting export.
Q: Is it hard to learn? A: No — most cashiers learn billing in minutes. Follow 00 — Quick Start.
Selling
Q: How do I make a sale? A: Open POS Terminal, scan items, click Pay, take payment, done. See 03 — POS sale.
Q: Can I give a discount? A: Yes — a percentage or a fixed amount, per line or per bill.
Q: Can one bill be paid part cash, part card? A: Yes — add multiple payments until the amount due is zero.
Q: Can I hold a bill and come back to it? A: Yes — Hold, serve others, then Retrieve. See 04 — Returns & holds.
Stock & products
Q: How do I add a product? A: Inventory → Add Product → fill name, barcode, price → Save. See 05 — Products.
Q: Can I import many products at once? A: Yes — use the Excel import template. See 06 — Stock receive.
Q: Does it warn me about low stock? A: Yes — low-stock items are flagged on the Inventory screen.
Expiry & warranty
Q: Can it track expiry dates? A: Yes — set an expiry date per product, get near-expiry alerts and an Expiry Report, and a warning before selling expired stock. See 07 — Expiry.
Q: Can it handle electronics warranties? A: Yes — capture serial/IMEI at sale and look up warranty later. It's optional (off by default). See 08 — Warranty.
Money & accounts
Q: Can I export to my accountant's software? A: Yes — Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or generic CSV. See 11 — Accounting export.
Q: How do I close the day? A: Run the day-end / Z-report from Reports. See 10 — Reports.

Q: Can I have more than one till / branch? A: Yes — each till runs its own copy and you pick the Branch/Store at login.
